Jimmy A. Nelson
Jimmy A. Nelson, Ph.D., CPTD, SHRM-SCP was born and raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry, and held several technical and managerial positions in the paint/chemical industry. In 1993, he made a radical change and began pursuing a career in the learning and organizational development field.
Jimmy now holds a master’s degree in organizational development and training, a Ph.D. in industrial organizational psychology, has taught as an adjunct instructor for Belmont, Davenport and Spalding Universities, is a "retired" Dale Carnegie® instructor, is a certified Franklin Covey® Instructor and earned his Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) from the Association of Talent Development in 2010. He earned the Senior Certified Professional certification by the Society for Human Resource Management in 2020. He holds certifications in D.i.S.C., DDI, Myers-Briggs, Hogan, and AVA and Pi assessments, and is a recognized expert in conflict resolution and advanced team building skills. He has taught internationally in China, England, Taiwan and Singapore. Jimmy serves as a board member for Volunteers of America (seven years).
