Diane August serves as senior consultant-learning excellence (chief learning architect) at Nationwide Insurance, Enterprise Talent Development team. Her role is to provide thought leadership on learning strategy, best practices and standards, and learner experience excellence. She works across a wide range of enterprise learning projects with a current focus on Future of Work Center initiatives including upskilling, reskilling and experiential learning. August also collaborates with the Innovation Capability Development team and business unit learning teams.
August created Nationwide’s initial learning architecture including design principles, solution types and learning levels, evolving it to the current architecture used for the Future Capability/Skills Development initiative. She previously served at Nationwide as the director of IT learning and development and also owned her own instructional design consulting firm for 15 years. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from The Ohio State University.
